Education
Amy is certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) which demands rigorous and thorough face to face training, clinical experience and instruction for all coaches. She received her Certified Professional Co-Active Coaching certificate from The Coaches Training Institute. CTI is one of the premier coaching schools in the world. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, VT.

Experience
Amy Ames Coaching & Consulting’s current major clients are in higher education where she serves as a Career Coach in the Amica Center for Career Education at Bryant University and as the Program Coach for the Brown University Women’s Launch Pad Mentoring Program. In this role she advises, guides and coaches undergraduate students in the areas of leadership, hospitality, event and program management, peer conflicts and customer service. Additionally, she conducts student reviews, sets goals, facilitates workshops, focus groups and trainings and continually researches and develops event programming geared to enrich the experiences of students and alumni populations.
Additionally, Amy consults with and coaches all levels of professionals from senior managers, to individuals re-entering the workforce, to new leaders searching to find and develop their leadership style and voice.
Her commitment to facilitating lives of authenticity, led Amy to start a non-profit called Heartworks in her community in 2007. Heartworks is an organization comprised of over 200 women that connects busy professional women with meaningful volunteer opportunities. In this role, Amy creates and leads all programming and logistics for meetings including topic selection, group discussions and exercises. She nurtures giving opportunities within the community by developing partnerships with key administrators, company executives and social services personnel and leads all fundraising efforts. In addition, Amy writes all newsletters and directs all marketing and communication materials.
Prior to relocating to the Providence area in 1998, Amy served as an Assistant Vice President at Lehman Brothers where she recruited and trained Associates for the Fixed Income and Equities Divisions.
